For the next two weeks, I’m challenging myself to wake up early (5am on week days!) in order to turn my mornings into a time to take care of and ‘restore’ myself. I have been realizing recently that for a long time I’ve neglected my emotional/mental and spiritual health. I’m trying to turn my mornings into a sacred time to keep myself sane and healthy!
I also find that combining my yoga practice, prayer, Bible reading, and breakfast is much more effective and motivating than when I separate them all out. I believe that too often it’s easy to separate my “spiritual life” from the rest of my life. Instead, I aim to intertwine my spirituality and relationship with God into all other aspects of my life, not just during “devotions.” We’ll see how this week goes, but this morning was definitely refreshing.
