Portland, Oregon [Photo Blog]

Despite all the traveling that I’ve done, I had never been to the west coast (shame on me, I know). So naturally when my travel partner had a wedding out near Portland, Oregon and asked me if I wanted to go, I was onboard!

Apparently we brought our east coast weather with us (yay for snow and ice storms), so we camped out in a hotel the first night (another story in and of itself 😂) after our flight got in. The next day, we started off with food (naturally) at a cute little cafe! Our day consisted mostly of: food, books, and donuts. 👌🏼

Blue Star Donuts was our first donut stop! We actually went there twice on our trip… We got: Maple Bacon (top left), Passionfruit Cocoa Nib (bottom left), Raspberry Rosemary (top right), and Eggnog Creme Brûlée (bottom right).

Since Janine and I are both book lovers, we of course had to go to Powell’s City of Books! Heaven 😍

I found my two favorite sections: Star Wars and feminist studies 😉.

Stumptown Coffee was another stop we had to make! Even though neither of us drink coffee…

Voodoo Donuts was another stop on our agenda! (Blue Star was better 😉 ).

The next day I spent wandering around Portland by myself while my friend was off at a wedding! It was rainy and dreary, but that’s Portland, right? I found a Chinese garden to explore for a few hours, visited Portland’s weekend market, chilled in Starbucks (free wifi, man), and saw a movie! Perfect little solo day for me 🙌🏼.

The view from the house we stayed at with friends was incredible, even when it was overcast!

When the weather cleared up a little bit (and the roads were no longer covered in ice), we took a trip up to Multnomah Falls. It was gorgeous! We drove up the mountains and got to see some of the waterfalls that are oh so abundant in Oregon.

West Coast, I’ll be back. Just maybe when it’s not snowing, and I can actually explore your great outdoors 😉.
